Web Positioning

Search Engines

By now it is common knowledge that you should submit your websites to the most popular search engines. After all, what good is a website if nobody can find it?

But getting your website listed is only the first step in building a web presence. To be effective in reaching your audience, your website must show up within the first few pages of a web search.

Optimizing your website to improve your position is crucial. We strive to maintain high ranking results for our clients, and keep current on the changing requirements of the major search engines.

Hyperbanner Exchange

Another way to increase traffic to your site is by joining a banner exchange program. Basically, you agree to display other people's banners and they agree to exchange yours. Since this can clutter up your website, we prefer the use of links pages and reciprocal link agreements. Remember, banner exchanges are only as effective as the banner you use. If your banner isn't compelling, it will not generate visitors to your site. Below is a sample banner ad, which we developed for our client Vox Music Group announcing new recordings by virtuoso violinist Aaron Rosand:

Webrings

Another way to increase the popularity of your site is by joining Webrings. Webrings are a way to link related sites, providing surfers with a simple and efficient way to find content on the Internet. Joining a webring costs nothing, and any visitors to your site who arrive via a webring are already interested in the subject matter in a general way. When considering a webring, look for one which has a large membership and has good quality websites as members. Although some webrings require a notice about their ring on the very front page of your site, we can minimize the impact of the webring code on the overall look-and-feel of your website.

Beyond...

There are many other techniques to increase visitors to your website, and perhaps our favorite is one that you can do on your own: keep them coming back by keeping your website current and interesting. It's called 'sticky content,' but really it's just common sense.
