Elfenworks Team Member: Producer / Director /Webdesigner Lauren Speeth
Speeth's client's websites have won numerous awards and have been discussed in articles in such notable periodicals as The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, and Gramophone. As a Director / Producer, Speeth captures the performances of classical and jazz musicians of the highest caliber both on CD [2007 Rejuve, 2006 Grammy® nominated Látigo, Aaron Rosand In Norway, Blue Divine, ...] and on camera [Violins & Cigars, Aaron Rosand in Recital, Reflections...]. Her films, screened in festivals throughout the United States and abroad -- as well as on the Classic Arts Channel and KBHK TV's Bay Area Focus -- have garnered Best International Mid-Length Documentary and Best Music Video & Best Jazz Video; as well as Davey, Summit, JPF, and Telly Awards. An active performing and recording musician, Speeth is a member of the First Violin section of the Peninsula Symphony since 2000 (currently on extended leave), has performed across the country and abroad as a solo violinist, and is a founding member of the band Commodore Callahan. Speeth's recording credits include: Love is Here (all lyrics, vocals, backup instruments, 2009); Rejuve (violin, 2007); Tammy Hall: Reflections (violin II, 2006); The Elfenworks Holiday Album (vocals, A Felicidade, 2005); The Elfenworks Motion Picture Bumper Soundtrack (violin II, 2004); A Joy Restored (violin, 2002); and John Watkins & Hiroshi Iguchi's Chinese Tea (flute, 1983). In addition to running Elfenworks Productions, Speeth is also founding CEO of The Elfenworks Foundation. She sees her work there as intelligent compassion in action. The Elfenworks team uses its multifaceted storytelling skills to empower visionary changemakers for about lasting positive change. Speeth also serves on the Board of Councilors of the Carter Center and the Board of Regents of Saint Mary's College of California. Speeth also serves on two External Advisory Boards: that of Stanford University's Center for the Study of Poverty and Inequality, and that of the Graduate School of Business at Mills College, where Speeth is a former trustee. Speeth continues to indulge her lifelong interest in learning. Having studied at various schools of Berkeley's Graduate Theological Union, she is now happily ensconced at BGU Seattle, where she is focusing on e-ministry, creative e-pluralism (e.g., uq-media.com), e-outreach, and non-harming ministries. | ||
