CONTEMPORARY VIOLINIST JEREMY COHEN RELEASES NEW CD "4TET SAN FRANCISCO" WITH NEW WEB SITE AT VIOLINJAZZ.COM

Unique Violin Virtuoso for Symphony Orchestras, TV/Film Soundtracks and Legendary Entertainers Showcases His Very Own "ViolinJazz" Repertoire

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 10, 2002) Jeremy Cohen, an accomplished contemporary violinist, today announced the release of his newest CD, "4tet San Francisco," a unique blend of original jazz, tango, classical and swing arrangements for the chamber music genre. In conjunction with his third CD release, Cohen also announced the launch of his new Web site, www.violinjazz.com.

In making the announcement, Cohen noted his newest CD release as a signature project supported by his new chamber group of a similar name, the increased popularity of the Internet and record label interest. "I'm very pleased with '4tet San Francisco' serving the dual role as a new CD and signature album for our recently formed group Quartet San Francisco," states Cohen. "This CD was created to add new material to the ever growing body of music available to chamber musicians around the world and to encourage musicians to create more of it. I'm equally pleased with VOX Music Group's interest, my new Web site (www.violinjazz.com) and the worldwide audience '4tet San Francisco' is destined to attract by offering it on the Internet."

The new CD features Dave Brubeck's "Blue Rondo A La Turk," Stevie Wonder’s "Sir Duke," Henry Mancini’s "Pink Panther," Duke Ellington's "Jubilee Stomp" and Raymond Scott's "Powerhouse." Other notable arrangements, including authentic tango selections are Astor Piazzolla’s "Libertango," Enrique Saborido’s "Felicia" and Augustin Bardi’s "Gallo Ciego."

"It was quite a pleasure to make the acquaintance of Jeremy Cohen's unique style of music making on his newest CD 4tet San Francisco," states VOX Music Group's General Manager Todd Landor. "In my position it is very easy to get jaded by the talent that is around, but Jeremy's unique artistry stands out because of its spontaneous feel supported by masterful technique and musicianship. We hope to plan a workable release on CD from both Jeremy's previous work and newer recordings that will cut through the current catalog, focusing especially on the classical and tango arrangements which VOX has a known reputation for distributing."

Designed by LMSWebdesign elfenworks, Cohen's new Web site, www.violinjazz.com, is complete with critic quotes, a 2002 concert schedule, music discography and other modern features, such as special prompt offerings for ChamberJazz and orchestras, a shopping cart with real-time CD purchasing capabilities and video clips from recent performances. "4tet San Francisco" and Cohen’s other CD offerings are available for purchase at www.violinjazz.com.

Cohen recorded "4tet San Francisco" at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch with Joel Cohen on cello, James Shallenberger on violin, Emily Onderdonk on viola and guest Jim Kerwin on bass. A former student of Itzhak Perlman, Cohen created 12 of the 13 arrangements with San Francisco pianist Larry Dunlap offering his arrangement of "Powerhouse."

"No matter what your musical preferences are, '"4tet San Francisco" has something to offer all music lovers," states Cohen.
