About the Globians Film Festival

The Globians Potsdam World and Culture Documentary Film Festival is a documentary festival focusing on world and culture documentary films, the protection of local cultures and threats to these cultures. Globians is a truly independent festival, accepting neither sponsorship from business nor public subsidies. The festival is housed in the old city town hall "Altes Rathaus" of Potsdam, near Berlin, in Germany. This historic structure, built in 1746, features a golden Atlas with his Globe on top of the roof.

About the film

Tammy Hall: Reflections - In this film of jazz favorites and original compositions, the musical artistry of jazz pianist Tammy Hall (captured live in concert at the famed Yoshi's Jazz House) is combined with cinematography by the elfenworks team and visuals by master editor/animator Tim Schaller. The blending of Hall's performance with dream-like imagery invite you to escape into a world of visual metaphor inspired and driven by the emotional qualities evoked by the themes of the music. "Tammy Hall: Reflections," directed by Lauren Speeth, received 2006 Summit and Telly Awards, and was selected by KCSM 91.1 as a thank-you gift for its 2006 member pledge drive. More information about this film is available in our film detail page and the film's many press releases including festival notices and awards.

The Altes Rathaus in Potsdam Germany

About Potsdam, Germany

If you are considering attending this festival, we are sure you will enjoy your time in Potsdam. This is a fascinating, culture-packed city just outside of Berlin. Attractions include the Sans Souci Palace and gardens, art galleries, the Neues Palace, an Orangerie, and Scloss Cecilienhof. Potsdam is also home to the early German film studios, once dormant, but now active again. And since Potsdam is located inside the former East Germany, the transitions between East and West can be astonishing. The town is a piece of living history which we're sure you will enjoy.
