DVD project--
We are proud to announce the new DVD Jeremy Cohen ViolinJazz & Friends Celebrate Joe Venuti - 100 Years,
a celebration of jazz violin legend Joe Venuti (September 16, 1903 - August 14, 1978). Marking the date of his 100th birthday, this film features works by Joe Venuti and Cohen's ViolinJazz
arrangements as well as rare archival photographs and film footage. An elfenworks production, this film is currently
available for online purchase from Video Artists International
and will have its world-premiere screening
in August, 2005 in Potsdam, Germany.
The artwork--
Elfenworks was responsible for all of the artwork for this project. The DVD cover includes the
artist's signature 'violinjazz' logo and colors, which we developed for his website.
The cover has an image of Joe Venuti arising from a steamy cup (pardon the pun on 'Joe') and Jeremy
Cohen's photograph on the back. It is instantly recognizable as a Jeremy Cohen ViolinJazz
product. Because of the importance of this film for Mr. Cohen, we redesigned
the Jeremy Cohen ViolinJazz website to include steam on the top navigation banner
Kudos--This film has been selected for the
festival programming in the Globians Potsdam World and Culture
Documentary Film Festival. Our film will receive its world premiere on August 12th 2005 when it will be the festival's
"Lobby Movie of the Day".
This film was also honored by the Tiburon International Film Festival, which featured excerpts at the
Film Festival's Opening Gala Celebration on March 10th 2005 along with live performances by
the Jeremy Cohen ViolinJazz Quartet.
