elfenworks Client: GRAMMY® Nominated Jazz Violinist Jeremy Cohen

Jazz violin virtuoso Jeremy Cohen is a long-time elfenworks client, and we are involved with ongoing efforts to capture his artistry for entertainment, marketing, education, and archives. A refreshing, traditional-yet-contemporary violinist, his performances embrace both jazz and classical sensibilities and encompass a broad range of other musical styles.

When elfenworks took over Jeremy Cohen's website it was not particularly content-rich. We have added resources for students and teachers of the violin as well as for jazz lovers in general, making the site more 'sticky' and inspiring return visits. In addition to the CDs which were offered for sale, we added an online store for 'Jeremy Cohen ViolinJazz' transcriptions for strings players, and ViolinJazz logoware. Over the years we have completely redesigned Mr. Cohen's site a number of times and we continually add content to keep it fresh. The most recent redesign was undertaken so that the site would echo the artwork on Cohen's 2005 Venuti tribute DVD described below.

Jeremy Cohen's film, Jeremy Cohen ViolinJazz & Friends Celebrate Joe Venuti, 100 Years, is now available from Video Artists International. An elfenworks production, this DVD captures Jeremy Cohen's Violin Jazz Quartet and very special guests performing at San Francisco's historic Herbst Theatre to celebrate the one hundredth birthday of swing era fiddler Joe Venuti. This film received its world premiere screening at the 2005 Globians Film Festival in Potsdam, Germany. Excerpts of this film were also featured at the 2005 Tiburon International Film Festival's Opening Gala Celebration (read press release).
